Introducing Myself - Part One

Thank-you for taking your time to have a look around.

Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Richard Carroll and I’m a photographer from Manchester UK. It has taken me a long time to get to where I am today learning from experiences good and bad along the way. The decision to create a career in photography has been sparked by my friends and family who love the creativity & passion I have for my work.

I have always been around media, my first job after my art foundation degree was as a video editor. I was 19 years old and got the job based on a film I created for my final project. It showed the changes in scenery & landscapes from the city to the countryside; I even made my own soundtrack(more on that another day!). I was awarded distinction for the project and accompanying artwork which I was amazed by, no one had done a video project before and the risk paid off.  My job at the video production company was alongside my audio engineering & production course at Futureworks in Manchester. There I collaborated with the video production crew to create films, music videos and shorts giving me a foundation of knowledge for my work today.

Fast forward and I’ve just turned 29, and this is official. I look forward to sharing my shoots, experiences and insights with you, I hope you are as excited as I am!

Look out for future updates!!

Thank-you

Richard Carroll
