Magazine Photography Feature!
How did this come about?
I was approached by Leona, the director of Leoko Cre8tive. Richard Carroll Photography was tasked with taking high quality portrait photos for use on Leoko Cre8tive’s website, social media and communications. The photo shoot took place at Leona’s workplace, the XYZ building in Spinningfields, Manchester.
What photography techniques did you use to get the shot?
The shots I wanted to get had to be bright, bold and colourful to match the uniqueness of the company that hired me. I used a Zeiss lens at a shallow depth of field along with lighting: two off camera flashes in soft box modifiers. For exciting composition I took multiple photos around the building. The upper floors which are currently being renovated into a new restaurant and bar were visually amazing. The raw grey concrete created a striking contrast to Leona’s bold colours. The lower floors provided a wide backdrop with interesting shapes, patterns and colours. The green glass of Spinningfields building provides a complimentary backdrop for the photo below:
Since this photoshoot I have been involved in more works with Leoko Cre8tive I have creatively covered events along with a special project. Currently in production is a video series documenting the company. The Video will provide an exciting insight of its day to day running and covering its major events the video. More on this little nugget soon!
